Changing of The Guard at Buckingaham Palace

ASSALAMMUALAIKUM....

N3 for today....

Changing the Guard at
Buckingham Palace....

Colourful spectacle and British pageantry.
The ceremony last about 45 minutes and usually takes place daily at 11.30 am depending on the weather permitting.

During the Changing the Guard ceremony, one regiment takes over from another.
The Queen's Guard consists of the St James's Palace and Buckingham Palace detachments.
The New Guard, who during the course of the ceremony become The Queen's Guard, march to Buckingham Palace from Wellington Barracks.

This colourful ceremony is one of the must sees on a trip to London.

Buckingham Palace is the Queen's official London residence and is used to entertain quests on state, ceremonial
and official occasions.

This is the Victoria Memorial...

in front of Buckingham Palace.
 Dedicated to Queen Victoria.
It has a large statue of Queen Victoria

Walking along The Mall...

The road is closed to traffic on Sunday, public holiday and for ceremonial events, including royal wedding, jubilee celebrations, parades and state visits.

Terlupa lak apa nama
 statue ni...

This one I remember...

Admiralty Arch
Although it looks like a monument, it is actually an office building with rooms inside.
(katanya nak dijadikan Hotel...dah ke belum...x pastilah pula...
next time in London if dah jadi Hotel boleh duduk sini...
wwaahhhh...
how nice...can C the view of Buckingham Palace & St. James's Park...)
Ok ok back to my story mory..
This Arch...
was commissioned by King Edward VII in memory of his mother, Queen Victoria.
The inscription along the top reads :
ANNO DECIMO EDWARDI SEPTIMI REGIS VICTORIAE REGINAE CIVES GRATISSIMI MDCCCCX,which is Latin for
"In the tenth year of King Edward VII, to Queen Victoria, form most grateful citizens, 1910".

Just on your left dari A Arch tadi...

TRAFALGAR SQUARE

at the heart of London, is one of the city's most vibrant open spaces..
A visit to London would be incomplete without coming to this mosst famous of landmarks...
(dulu2 banyak pigeons disini...mesti most of you guys ingat kan & sama naiklah bagi makan/berposing sakan..betul tak?

tapi banyak juga poo poo (droppings) mereka kan.....
nowdays Feeding Trafalgar's pigeons becomes illegal and people caught feeding the birds face possible prosecution and a fine...)

Nelson's Column
is the focal point of Trafalgar Square.
Admiral Nelson was one of Britain's best loved heroes, who fought valiantly for his country and won four notable naval battles at the personal cost of losing an arm and one eye.
Nelson's last and most famous battle was fought off the Spanish cape of Trafalgar, when he defeated Napoleon and the French & Spanish fleets; during which he lost his life, dying aboard H.M.S. Victory.
The Panels depict the four great victories of Admiral Nelson.
At each corners of the monument sit the superb Lions - Like four great guardians.
