Royal baby announcement

Sharing is caring....

Royal baby announcement will be displayed in lights on BT Tower

The royal baby's arrival will be announced in lights on London's BT Tower, the company revealed today.
The landmark's scrolling information screen - consisting of 177 separate panels and 529,750 LEDs - will display news of the birth.
That means people in London will find out whether William and Kate have had a boy or girl by looking up towards the 600ft tower.
The telecommunications building can also be seen from the suburbs - although royal fans will need sharp eyes to read it
Suzi Williams, director group marketing and brand at BT, said: "As one of London's best-loved landmarks, it's only fitting that the BT Tower should celebrate when the city celebrates.
"Since the LED screen at the top was first installed back in 2009 it has counted down from 1000 days to the start of London 2012, and commemorated the Royal wedding and the Diamond Jubilee.
"We're excited to be sharing news of the royal birth too."
The Duchess has been dividing her time between her official London residence at Kensington Palace and her parents' home in Bucklebury, Berkshire.
A Kensington Palace spokesman said: "The same as any expectant parents would be, they're now spending their time privately."
The Duke is with his wife because he is on annual leave and his two-week paternity leave will begin when the baby is born.
A due date for the birth has never been officially confirmed by the Palace, only the month of July was given at the start of the year.
The baby will be born at the private Lindo wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London.
Broadcasters, photographers and journalists have been camped outside the hospital since the start of the month waiting for the Duchess to arrive.
With much of the country sweltering in a heatwave Kate is likely to be conscious of keeping cool.
Mervi Jokinen, of the Royal College of Midwives, said: "It gets quite uncomfortable being pregnant in the heat.
"Your legs swell more. It's actually more uncomfortable. If you go into labour, it can be a relief."
