Jalan Jalan di Kampong Glam, Arab Street & Bugis Street in Singapore

Kampong Glam

(the Arab Quarter, where Arab St is located)

In my opinion, an incredibly underrated part of Singapore

at Kampong Glam
you get to experience a delightful mix of the old and the new.

In In Malay, the word "Kampung" means "village or settlement" and "Glam" is the name of a particular tree,
which grew in abundance in the area in early Singapore.
(ingatkan sebab dia Glam = ) hehehehe)

Overview :
It's a strange paradox that one of the oldest precincts in Singapore--an important gathering area for the original settlers in Singapore, the Malay and Muslim communities--has over the years embraced modern shops that are bohemian and alternative.

The curious mix of trendy and traditional means that you could be eating nasi padang (Malay dishes with rice) in a century-old conservation shophouse on one visit, but on your next, shopping for new wave boutique clothing or chilling at a brand-new kedai makan.  That's what creates the buzz in this place and it's why people keep coming back to the area, whether they're hipsters or history buffs.
(seriously if wanna buy souvenir buy here..)

Arab Street

Arab Street is part of the conservation area of Kampong Glam made up of Bussorah Street,
 the main thoroughfare,
Baghdad Street, Kandahar Street n Muscat Street.
It has many restaurants n good n cheap eateries, shops that sell carpets, textiles, clothings, jewellery, souvenirs,
bookstores, rattan baskets, etc

Jalan jalan tetiba....

sampai di Bugis Street....

I tell U...

very Unique retail shopping location.
After undergoing a major facelift,
Bugis Street now is the largest street shopping location in Singapore.
With a unique blend of retail concepts ranging from chic and fashionable clothing and accessories, etc.
Although the street is not a well known tourist destination, it is frequented by many Singaporeans.

National Heritage - Sultan Mosque Singapore...

 The impressive Sultan Mosque.

The largest mosque in Singapore and
a national heritage site,
it has remained relatively unchanged since.

Built in 1826 by the Sultan of Johor, Hussein Shah, it fell into a state of disrepair after a hundred years before a new one was built in 1928 to support the growing Muslim community.

Turning left into Muscat Street will bring you to the entrance of the mosque and, if you'd like to explore within, check out the mosque's dome base, formed out of many glass bottles collected by devotees;
an impressive sight to behold

Alhamdulillah di beri kesempatan menunaikan Solat Zohor & Asar di sini....

With its massive golden dome and huge

 prayer hall,

the main prayer hall can hold up to 5,000

 or more worshippers,

and is one of the biggest and most amazing religious

structures in Singapore.

Don't forget to come here next time you're in

Singapore...

Next Day - Early Morning 8am

JB - Singapore

There are currently two man-made land connections over the straits.
The Johor-Singapore Causeway, known simply as "The Causeway", links Johor Bahru and Woodlands in Singapore, - dari JB masuk SG kami guna yang ni.
while a bridge, known as the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link,
further west of the straits links Gelang Patah in Johor and Tuas in Singapore.
- keluar dari SG masuk JB kami naik yang ini pula...- kurang sibuk x perlu turun naik tangga..

(di tengah2 selat...  nun sana dah nampak SG)

The Straits of Johor (also known as the Tebrau StraitJohor Strait,Selat JohorSelat Tebrau, and Tebrau Reach
is a strait that separates the Malaysian state of Johor on mainland Eurasia
to the north from Singapore to the south.
JB di sebelah sini

Kejap sangat perjalanan... dah masuk SG
Tapi yang penat sebaik saja sampai sini...

Memang sangat penat, sebab masuk ke SG menaiki bas yg disediakan oleh pihak Hotel
(ambil package hanya untuk hari yg pertama saja - fuhh nasib baik sehari jer if hari2 seterusnya masuk SG juga naik bas - gerenti pitam Mum),
bukan nak action atau apa tapi...
mahu x stress....kena stop di dua imigresen.
Beratur, isi borang keluar-masuk, turun naik, berjalan dengan kelajuan laju sangat sebab mengejar masa dan teramat ramai manusia.... -  memang akan PENAT.
Tapi, yang paling2 penat ialah menunggu ORANG...

So next time sapa2 plan nak naik bas..nak travel at own leisure
fikir2lah dahulu yer...better sewa kereta @ naik kereta sendiri....
(@ better jer stay kat SG saja lagi senang...Mum punya kes sebab NAKKKKK sangat duk JB
kwang kwang kwang.... = ( ni lah jadinya.... - xper pengalaman katakan...)

GotToGo for now,

nak rush ambil anak dara....

Lain hari, lain kali kita

 sambung story mory

....

Till my next N3...

Take care...
